I recently directed and filmed a web video about gourmet french delicacies with Cloutandabout.com. We got a chance to learn how artisan sausages and pates were made. This company called Fabrique Delices also made truffle butter among other tasty gourmet delights. After 26 years in business, they had everything down to a science and an art. Backed up by a small but efficient manufacturing plant with over 10 people lovingly working with machines to create special French delicacies for an upscale market, they produced boxes of products shipped out to major airlines, hotels, restaurants and gourmet markets.

We interviewed the three dedicated artisans and businessmen behind the brand. Check back for the feature video on Fabrique Delices soon.

I produce promotional videos for a living. I love what I do but once in a while, I work on personal video projects that allow me to just let my own voice be heard. I started Ripplemakers.TV in late 2010 as an outlet for my creative energies. I love inspiring and motivating people to go beyond their perceived limits. Ripplemakers.TV is home to “Ripple,” a TV show consisting of documentary shorts about people who cause a positive ripple effect in the community. Our “Ripple” webisodes have had a total of over 52,000 YouTube views  with just 5 stories uploaded since July, 2010. Because of “Ripple’s” success, Ripplemakers.TV has attracted other filmmaker friends from all over the world to contribute stories from their own communities. Manila, Philippines was our first global contribution in January 2011, followed by Vancouver and Australia in April and May.

Once upon a time, some segments of your video audience could not tell the difference between well-produced and amateur promotional videos. There just weren’t enough promotional videos, video demos and sizzle reels showing up on their inbox and search results. Today, promotional videos are everywhere.  Thanks to YouTube, Vimeo, Brightcove and other professional video distribution platforms, people can now tell the difference.

The days of producing tech videos that look like they were shot by your high school classmate are losing their appeal. People are realizing that well-produced videos do one important thing. It helps the audience focus on the message and not the jarring cuts, low lighting level, shaky shots and out-of-control music that’s a few decibels higher than what’s legal.

Check out this promotional video produced to introduce Adwords Call Metrics to mid-sized and large businesses. Google wanted the video to be “googley,” professional and appealing to their target audience.

I, along with colleagues and friends Jesse Eisenhardt and  Anders Osterballe went all over the bay area, filming in Downtown San Francisco, Downtown San Jose, Mountain View and Brisbane. Shot on a Canon7D and animated using Adobe AfterEffects by Manuel Abady, this project was a lot of fun to work on. It is used as a main launch support vehicle for Google’s new product: Adwords Call Metrics. Adwords assigns a phone number to your online business campaign which allows you to track the success of each campaign through the call results.

Recently, news broke about the coal mining blast that took the lives of West Virginia miners. This video post is my small contribution to raise awareness on an issue that may not cross our minds when we switch on our lights, run our dishwashers and adjust our heater thermostat– all these, while using our precious coal resource. We filmed and edited this video in October, 2009.  The issue is alive and haunting West Virginia and the rest of the country to this day.

SIX glorious hours in the SF bay area sun for six gorgeous shots of our talented soccer player. A few days later, we worked with hand models and shiny new phones as fingers clicked on buttons, scrolled on pages and swiped on screens. This video, with original musical scoring, a fun concept and punchy editing, was a lot of fun to produce! Check out the final piece.
